Shady El Noshokaty

Stammer – Shady = Pablo 2008

This sequel is represented through a two corresponding video screens that are identical in duration, each extending to a six minute loop where the artist participates with Spanish artist Pablo Di Soto in a vocal performance through both screens. They both try to examine the vocal secrets that constitute meanings in Arabic and Spanish words that define the ways in which culture is structured uniquely. In this correspondence they try to switch roles through what they call “The voice of the strait” which is a narrow virtual space where they can vocally meet beyond cultural and language barriers.
